Jumblatt: Damascus is the number 1 address of terror

In his Progressive Socialist Party weekly newspaper al Anbaa, which will be published today Jumblatt wrote:

"The summit can be described as lackluster because it lacked the high level representation of the major Arab countries, lacked the political vision and did not achieve any significant progress in any of the major problems especially the Palestinian issue, Iraq and Lebanon... areas where the Syrian regime is known for its sabotage and disruptive efforts".

He continued, "How strange is this Syrian regime . It announced after the end of the summit that all those who participated in the summit, no matter at what level of representation contributed to its" success ". But hours later they followed that with a statement of accusations stating that some Arab countries are puppet for the Americans and that they were seeking, through lower level representation to disrupt the Summit to please the Americans? Even their allies in Lebanon were given the same password to make the same accusations.
Jumblatt continued "Walid Mouallem, the Syrian foreign Minister said that the solution to the Lebanese crises is a Lebanese - Lebanese matter". He added: "Does he think anyone in the world believes what he is saying? After all everyone in the world knows that it is the Syrian regime that is behind the crises in Lebanon."

Jumblatt said: Mouallem's dialogue, like that of his president is empty and everyone knows that this regime is the regime of destabilization and terror. The strange thing is that the summit talked about ending terrorism, if this is the case then the Arabs should confront Syria first because this is the number one address of terror in the Arab world and it has been passed over from father to son. Alluding to Bashar al Assad's father Hafez al Assad.

Jumblatt added: On the other hand look at Saudi Arabia's honorable position with regards to Lebanon. This is a country that treats all the Lebanese parties the same without any discrimination. This is the country that always stood by Lebanon. This is the country that continues to provide Lebanon with political economic and social support and is the friend that always tried to rescue Lebanon in the most difficult situations.

Jumbalatt concluded : "Even during the war in July 2006, it was the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that helped to rescue Lebanon from the destruction and helped support the Lebanese currency which was under tremendous pressure due to the devastation of the war. The kingdom did this without asking for any favors and did all this for all the Lebanese people without any discrimination. The Saudi ambassador in Lebanon sets an example of how friendly nations should treat each other.
