In his editorial column, Muhammad Ali Ibarhim, editor of the Egyptian daily Algomhuria, wrote in the paper that the Syrian occupation of Lebanon is more dangerous than the Israeli occupation.

Ibrahim (pictured) was responding to Syria's mufti who issued a Fatwa (an Islamic decree or opinion) in which he stated that it is a "religious duty of every Arab ruler to come to the Damascus summit"

Ibrahim called the Fatwa a " Joke " and asked does the Mufti want the leaders to come to Damascus to bless the Syrian occupation of Lebanon?
We know it s not a military occupation but it is worse , because it is the hijacking of the Independence , sovereignty and Freedom of Lebanon to serve the interest of Iran and Syria"

He said Syria's is a "diplomatic" occupation, that was taking Lebanon's will and sovereignty hostage and making it into a pawn serving Syria and Iran.

Ibrahim continued to address the Syrian Mufti : "You are calling the summit in Damascus a summit of " Arab solidarity"? What solidarity are you taking about ? The solidarity of the occupation of Lebanon ? The solidarity of the resistance that did not fire a single bullet in 35 years on Israel which continues to occupy your land ? Does solidarity mean that the Syrian regime should disrespect the Arab leaders ?

Ibrahim concluded :For God's sake have mercy " your occupation of Lebanon is destructive, humiliating and devastating. No Arab country has the right to occupy another Arab country!
