Iran has 'Strong Bonds' with Lebanon, Official

Iranian Vice President and Head of the Islamic Revolution Martyrs Foundation Hussein Dehqan said Tehran has "strong bonds with Lebanon," the Iranian news agency, IRNA, reported Thursday.
It said Dehqan was speaking before a group of families of the victims of the 2006 summer was between Israel and Hizbullah.

IRNA quoted Dehqan as saying that "Islam today is in zenith of dignity and pride worldwide."

"Over the past three decades, Lebanon used to be regarded as bride of the Middle East and today, Lebanon is known for manifesting Islamic dignity," he was quoted as saying.

Dehqan, IRNA said, stressed that when top Hizbullah commander Imad Mughniyeh was assassinated, "the entire Muslim world mourned and when Lebanon defeated Israel heavily in the 33-day war or when Hizbullah Leader Hassan Nasrallah makes (a) speech, the whole world came to realize" that.
