Hamade: Dialogue would be Held only Under an Elected President
Minister of Communications Marwan Hamade said Monday the March 14 majority alliance would only accept to take part in national dialogue if presided over by an elected president.
Hamade also made an outright rejection of taking part in national dialogue if called for by Parliament speaker Nabih Berri.
"We'll take part in dialogue only if the call was made by the president of Lebanon, who should preside over dialogue and national entente, not AMAL leader Nabih Berri," Hamade said in a televised interview.
Berri had said that he would issue a call for national dialogue if the Arab summit that ended its deliberations in Damascus Sunday failed to settle the ongoing crisis in Lebanon.
