Geagea: Impossible for dictatorship to win over democracy Empty Geagea: Impossible for dictatorship to win over democracy

During a meeting in the city of Cleveland , Ohio , Lebanese Forces leader Dr. Samir Geagea proclaimed " we will win in the end because it impossible for dictatorship to win over democracy.

Geagea added: "The confrontation will be hard and long " and but stressed that Lebanon will win in the end.

He said no particular party will win, but Lebanon will be the winner because it is impossible to have a borderless country, it is impossible to have a stateless state, it is impossible to have 2 armies in one state, it is impossible to have a state within a state and it is impossible to have a state without a president.

He added we will win because we are working in the direction of correcting the situation in Lebanon while the others will lose because they are working in the other direction.

He criticized some Christian politicians who aligned themselves with the outside and decried their claim that this is good for the Christian community . "It is the logic of the sinner," he said. This was in reference to General Michel Aoun and former MP Suleiman Franjiyeh who aligned themselves with the Iranian and Syrian backed Hezbollah-led opposition.

"For 15 years Lebanon witnessed the real hell as Syria and Iran were in complete control of Lebanon. We were a state in name only, but this changed when the Lebanese Cedar revolution erupted and we drove Syria out of Lebanon with the help of our friends in the Arab and International community, Geagea said.

Geagea a key member of the ruling March 14 ruling alliance is on an official visit in the United States. He has also been holding meetings with the Lebanese communities throughout the US.

Geagea reiterated his objection to participation in the Damascus summit. He said "Lebanon has attended every Arab summit, but this time we have a big problem with the location of the summit. It is not out of hostility towards the Syrian people ... absolutely not.

Our big problem is with the manner in which the Syrian regime has been dealing with Lebanon. This is the regime that rejects the demarcation of the border with our country, which means it does not recognize our existence.

This is the regime that refuses to recognize Lebanon as a sovereign and Independent state. This is the regime that is preventing Lebanon from reclaiming the occupied Shebaa Farms, by refusing to cooperate with the UN.

This is the regime that refuses to establish any diplomatic relations with Lebanon and continues to use all its resources to destabilize our country, like it did when it sent Fatah al-Islam to fight our army last year.
