Former MP Fares Soueid: Our primary battle is for the presidential elections

The March 14 General Secretariat’s coordinator, Former MP Fares Soueid, said that reinforcing the government by appointing new ministers is out of the question, as the essential issue at hand is electing a president.

“Any more talk about his means that we have dropped the issue of the presidential elections and moved into a new phase,” Soueid told NOW Lebanon.

“After the Arab Summit, the matter of governmental and March 14 procedures will be discussed,” he added.

Soueid noted that there aren’t too many procedures to take care of. “Either we regain the presidency, or we appoint new ministers in the present government.”

“March 14’s battle is for the election of a president, because the vacuum is not on the level of the legitimate government,” he added.
