Safadi laments impact of presidential hiatus

Post by Admin on Sun Apr 20, 2008 5:57 am

Public
Works and Transport Minister Mohammed Safadi, who is also head of the
Tripoli bloc, said Wednesday that the presidential vacuum was very
damaging to Lebanon, adding that the country's salvation will emerge
from internal consensus. "We must fill this vacuum through an
inter-Lebanese agreement," Safadi said after meeting with US Charge
d'Affaires Michele Sison.

Safadi
also reiterated his bloc's support for the ruling March 14 Forces. "We
are still part of the March 14 alliance," he said, "despite the
divergence in points of view on some matters."
